After trying a few solar lights in the past that barely lasted a season, I was a bit hesitant to try another, but this one has genuinely exceeded expectations. The IP65 waterproof rating is clearly doing its job because it’s been out in rain, wind and freezing temperatures without any issues. The build feels sturdy and well made, which isn’t always the case with solar-powered lights.

The lighting itself is excellent. With 78 LED beads, it gives off a strong, clear brightness that really improves visibility around our garage. The PIR sensor activates instantly whenever someone walks past, making the area much safer at night. I also appreciate how wide the beam is — the 270° coverage means it illuminates both the driveway and part of the side path at the same time.

The best part is that it doesn’t use any electricity. The solar design keeps it charged throughout the day, and it’s been working reliably even on cloudier winter days. Installation couldn’t have been simpler; just a couple of screws and it was ready to go. Installation was surprisingly simple. I’m not the most confident DIYer, but with the included fittings and instructions, I had it mounted and working in under an hour. I originally purchased this light fitting as a temporary solution, but it might just become a permanent fixture! Installation was incredibly straightforward, requiring only a couple of wires to be clipped into the circuit. The design looks far more expensive than its actual price. The brightness level is ideal for a bathroom, and the warm white setting offers a soft, gentle glow that’s a welcome change from the typical harsh white light. After a few months of use, I’ve had no issues at all with this light.

The light looks great and is much brighter than I initially expected. I did encounter some difficulty during installation, mainly due to the supplied cable connector, which I found to be poor quality and had to replace with a “chocolate block” type connector. The cables themselves could be a bit longer to make connecting to the mains easier, as there wasn’t much slack to work with.

I also ran into trouble with the bayonet fitting because my ceiling has a slight bow, making it impossible to securely connect the light to the main unit. After spending an hour trying, I gave up and used double-sided tape to fix the light directly to the ceiling.

Despite these issues, the overall quality of the light is better than I expected, especially given the very reasonable price.

Safety concerns, I fitted this very feather light unit to the ceiling, after some minutes the unit became hot and deformed out of shape removed it straight away. No fitting instructions safety warranty in the box, and a round light shown on the box instead of the square one.
