As someone who's obsessed with lights, I couldn't wait to try these festoon lights and they've been a great addition to the garden. Most of my outdoor lighting is solar powered, which works brilliantly through spring and summer, but the darker UK autumn and winter months can really affect their performance. Having these mains powered lights means I can still enjoy a well lit garden all year round.
These lights have made the patio feel far more welcoming during evening meals and gatherings. The warm bulbs create a pleasant atmosphere without being excessively bright, while the spacing provides even illumination across the full length. Installation was simple using the hanging points above each bulb, and the lightweight plastic globes were much easier to handle than glass. They have remained secure through wind and rain, with no visible moisture inside the fittings. The spare bulbs are also useful to keep available for future replacement. Power consumption is low enough to leave them running for long evenings without concern. Connecting additional sets provides flexibility for larger areas, and dimmer compatibility allows the mood to be adjusted. They combine attractive lighting with practical year-round durability.
These are good lights and a real addition to any garden. Nice and easy to setup, the cable is fairly light, ditto the bulbs each of which are looped so you can be quite creative as to their placing. Being plastic and LED the hazard risk is minimal and they won’t hugely increase your energy bills at a miserly 0.5w per bulb. The light is warm but a bit brighter than expected, an option to turn them down and even a remote or switch on the cable would have definitely made them a five star item. As it is though, no real complaints and good value at just over thirty pounds but shop around as this is quite a crowded market.
I’ve been using these lights for a little while now and, overall, I’m pleased with them.
The 15m length is about right for most patios or garden spaces, and the warm white LEDs actually sit somewhere between a true warm white and a cooler white, giving a neutral colour temperature that I quite like.
The G50 bulbs are noticeably larger than those on many similar festoon light sets, which gives them a more substantial appearance. The cable is also very flexible, making installation much easier than with stiffer alternatives.
It’s a nice touch that the pack includes two spare bulbs, and the lights are fitted with an extendable connector so you can join multiple sets together if needed.
The only issue I encountered was that my set was missing the protective terminating cap. As these are mains-powered lights, that cap is important for maintaining the weatherproof seal on the unused connector. Without it, I wouldn’t be comfortable leaving them outdoors in typical British weather. Fortunately, I had a spare cap from another set, so it wasn’t a problem for me, but it is something worth checking when your order arrives.
Because of the current heatwave, I haven’t had the opportunity to test them in wet conditions. However, they appear to be well made and of good overall quality, so aside from the missing cap, I have no immediate concerns.
Overall, these are good-quality festoon lights with flexible cabling, larger bulbs and the added convenience of connectable sets. I’d happily recommend them, provided all the supplied weatherproof caps are included.
These outdoor garden string lights will certainly do that. I haven't yet put them up as it's a little early in the year but I've tested them and they work brilliantly.
I did try to take a photo of them lit up but it was just too bright for my camera and the photo went stripey lol. So I took a photo of them unlit too.
Having just had the front of my house re- rendered and wanting smart new lights, these fitted the bill perfectly. They look exceptionally good against the new white Ecorend, and I am delighted with them and they add a touch of class to my property.
Really happy with these lights. Only had them up a few days but all good so far. had to pay some additional postage but other than that, great service.
Got a light
It was damaged when I opened the box
Said they would give me 5 pounds as a go
What good is that when the light has got a hole in it
Hence I had to order another l
Got these for my partners dog grooming shed excellent quality and good value
Very disappointing. I bought two of these CCTV cameras because they were advertised as 1080p, but the image quality is nowhere near that. Even in broad daylight, you can’t clearly recognise someone’s face, and at night you can barely see anything at all.
The app is also very confusing. It has an option for “cloud/virtual storage”, but there’s no clear information on how to purchase or activate the storage.
Overall, I would not recommend these cameras. **Don’t waste your money on them.**
